Odd Future has been on the road for the past few weeks, performing dates on their Wolf Gang tour, but the boisterous bunch took some downtime between their Seattle and Salt Lake City shows to ham it up with Spin for the magazine’s December issue. Tyler, The Creator even gave an update on his upcoming album Wolf (a follow up to TK’s Goblin) due out in May 2012. Check out a couple of quotes from the feature interview.

During the interview, Tyler explained how he plans to combine his taste in both “cheesy indie-jazzy rock” and “ignorant rap,” and he justifies his use of controversial lyrics and song titles. "If I'm not listening to cheesy indie-jazzy rock sh-t, I'm listening to ignorant-a-- rap shit like Waka Flocka and OJ Da Juiceman. And I made a song that sounds like that energy, but in my world. I think making a song about punching a b-tch in the face is funny, because if you're a regular person, just hearing that is f-ck-ng crazy, and 90 percent of the people know I'm just f-ck-ng around."

Tyler acknowledges that his creative flow has evolved over the years and even though he’s unapologetic about his unconventional tastes, he explains why he can no longer write the same lyrics he was spitting earlier in his career. "What interests me is making weird hippie music for people to get high to. With Wolf, I'll brag a little bit more, talk about money and buying sh-t. But not like any other rapper, I'll be a smart-a-- about it. Now it's just girls throwing themselves at me and sh-t, but I got a girl back home. People who want the first album again, I can't do that. I was 18, broke as f-ck. On my third album, I have money and I'm hanging out with my idols. I can't rap about the same sh-t.”
